Toshiba Satellite laptop, 64 bit, Windows 7, 4 g RAM
Trying to make audio cd’s with new Memorex disks.
Used Windows to format. Windows Explorer shows a blank DVD/CD-R drive. Drive properties show 58 mb of used space.
What did I do…or not do?

What have you done?
You don’t have to format DVD/CD.
You have to use windows internal cd burning function or third party software like nero or maybe free software, to burn your files to CD/DVD.
The cd burning software will do the rest for you.
If you have already tried to format such CDs or DVDs, and the session on that disks are closed, it’s not possible, to write further data to it.
In other words, you burned an empty CD/DVD.
