Solved Unable To Reset Eee PC Back To Factory Setting

  • 1

I just picked up a used Eee PC at a thrift store for next to nothing. Model number is 1005HAB and it’s running Windows 7 Starter.
It is still password protected so I attempted to go into the bios to disable the Boot Booster and take it from there. The problem is there is no boot booster to shut down, and when I attempt any variation of F9, it doesn’t go into the recovery options. Now I’m actually getting a message the says something about Shift + F8…….. then goes to a black screen with a blinking cursor. So, by attempting F9, I seem to have made things stop functioning.

Any help from this point on would be greatly appreciated. I’d love to get this machine working because it’s like brand new. Since I spent so little on it (Literally $5) I won’t mind taking it in, but I’d like to try to work on it myself first.

Thanks in advance to those that might be able to help me!!

  1. Windows password? There was no need to do anything in the BIOS. The following program has never failed me. If you’re not familiar with Linux, just carefully read what’s on the screen & you should be able to figure it out. Clear the password & unlock.
