Solved Start But Won’t Boot.

  • 0

My computer starts but won’t boot. Please please help.

I came home during a storm (don’t know if related) to a computer that should of been running. Instead all the fans were running fast and the computer not booted. Reset, nothing. Unplug the power supply…nothing. Try a different outlet…nothing. I popped mobo bios battery…no boot. It powers on, all fans and lights a go, but no boot or beeps.
My next step. After I rma the mobo, powersupply, video card and CPU…still no boot. I bought a new power supply and new ram…no boot. I tried and out of tower start incase something was grounding…no boot. Bought a new bios battery in a laughable hope…nothing. So many other little things I tried including screaming, crying and baby talk…nothing.
Please someone help me so I can love you forever. Please, my frustration and confusion over this has driven me absolutely mad.

  1. You still didn’t answer if you have the power supply connected directly to the mains or do you have a power strip or UPS in between the mains and the computer?

24 pin power connector plus the 8 pin auxiliary power connector plus the six pin graphics card power? CPU fan connected to the correct header (CPU)?

Motherboard isolated from the case by using cardboard or the foam from the shipping carton for the board?

The two comments below are copied directly from your MBoard manual.

To enable successful system boot-up, always insert the memory modules into the
    DIMM4/ DIMM2 first.

Dimm slot #1 is closest to the CPU. The slots are numbered in order. 1,2,3,4 across.

Line up the video card on top of the expansion slot(s) with the display ports facing
out of the computer case. For a single video card installation, using the PCI_E2 slot
    is recommended.

PCI_E2 is the slot closest to the CPU.

When you temporarily short out the 2 power switch pins does anything happen?
