Samsung Laptop Says Battery 80% Full But Not

Samsung laptop says battery is 80% plugged in but not charging. I have it on power save mode

  1. Samsung laptop with Windows 7. Now I vaguely recall some time back being prompted and went to the 80% setting but couldn’t figure how to undo. After trying all of the suggestions that people said regarding the Device Manager and Power Plan options. Battery in, battery out, AC in, AC out, Restart here, there… I tried all the combinations found on all the boards and the best solution only worked for a minute or two, then the system would automatically reload the Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Battery Method and back to “80%, not charging.” The solution wasn’t Windows and is so much simpler than that…

    Go into Start, Programs then Samsung folder. The first item in the list is Battery Life Extender. There are two modes, one that charges the battery to 100% and another that is to extend the battery life by only charging to 80% (said to be better if laptop is plugged in most of the time). I put it back on the 100% setting and problem permanently solved. I would imagine if you’re having this exact problem that other manufacturers probably have the same kind of settings.
