Solved Reset HDD1/SSD1 Password For Toshiba Laptop

  • 0

Is it true when it prompts you for hdd1/ssd1 password you have to get a new hard drive to fix the error? I am trying to help my mother who only god knows what she did, fix her laptop. I have the recovery disk, but they won’t load. Laptop is 5 years old but to her its “new”. We called toshiba and they have it registered to her and everything but said she had to take it for repair. Its a $200 at best laptop. I told her get a new one, but she wants to fix this “barely used” one of hers. Can anyone help me???

  1. HD/SSD does not require a password to work. It is usually put on there by the user for protection, so that some outsider cannot mess with the contents. For that reason it is odd that it has suddenly come along, unless someone has fiddled with that area and accidentally invoked it. That’s why it’s tricky unless we know what was typed in.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome – thanks
