Are you creating the pages using the A5 setting? If so, your printer should be able to print that size. I have two printers currently in use and both have A5 as an option.
Generally speaking, the limiting factor for a printer is the width of the carriage, and to a lesser degree, the longest length that can be printed. The length is likely a capability of the printer driver as well as the word processor used to create the document.
MS Word does have a setting for A5 paper.
The other issue is if you have a printer capable of printing two sides in one pass. If not, then you need to feed the pages in twice and use the odd/ even setting in the print options.
How many copies of this book do you intend to print and how many pages in each book? I ask because it may be cheaper to take it to a print shop. Depending on what you are trying to produce, you may not be able to do a professional job.
Will you be able to bind the book, for instance? Will there be any illustrations?
