Ontrack EasyRecovery Can’t Run On Windows 7

ontrack easy recovery loads on windows 7 but after selecting the recovery option ie format recovery, the program seems to to run for a while and closes,

  1. It’s not designed for Windows 7 specifically, and it’s not listed on Microsoft’s Win7 software compatibility database. That does not necessarily mean it won’t work on Win7, just that the developer is making no promises that it will.
    You could try running it in Vista or XP compatibility mode.

    1. Right-click any ‘Ontrack Easy Recovery’ shorcut.
    2. Select ‘Properties’
    3. Click the ‘Compatibility’ tab.
    4. Tick “Run this program in compatibility mode for……”
    5. Select XP or Vista from the drop-down menu.
    6. Click ‘OK’ — you’re done.

    Regardless of which of it’s shortcut’s you use to launch the application, ‘Ontrack Easy Recovery’ will now always run in that particular mode.

    You might have to experiment with the various OS modes that are available (eg, different service pack levels).
