Solved Lenovo ThinkPad T500 On Reboot Loop

  • 1

My brother has a ThinkPad T500 which has suddenly been afflicted by a reboot loop. He was watching a video on it, then he went to eat breakfast. When he returned to his laptop, it had restarted and was running some Startup Recovery process. After that finished, it just went on to continue the boot, loading up Windows. Unfortunately, 30 seconds to a minute after logging in, it restarts again, and it just keeps on going. Some times, it will reboot before it has even given a chance to log in. We even tried to restore the system to factory settings, according to the instructions, by pressing the ThinkPad blue button, but it turned out that option was not available. Can anyone help? Have some idea? We would be very grateful.

  1. Do you have a Windows 7 disk? You could reinstall off of that.

It is nice he got to keep the notebook though :).
