Incredibly Slow Windows 7 USB Transfer Rates

<td>I have incredibly slow transfer speeds from my USB flash drive to my gaming laptop.<p>Apparently my laptop device manager states that I have 2.0 USB ports all of which I use for the USB flash drive.</p><p>My transfer rates are about 6 mb – 10 mb… on Windows 7.</p><p>Whereas on my 8 year old desktop computer (HP), the transfer rate is SIGNIFICANTLY faster (like 20 times faster).</p><p>Any suggestions?     1. USB 2.0 transfer rate is max 60 MB/second. Therefore, your assumption for your old HP (like 20 times faster) is not correct because 6 MB times 20 is 120 MB/sec and is in excess of max 60 MB/sec rate. If there are many many files of very small size, then transfer rate becomes very small.
