Canon MP490 Scans But Won’t Print

Downloaded the driver, shows in the control panel. If I try to scan something, the scanner starts.

If I try to print something, the print dialog box displays, but when, “print” is selected, nothing starts, and nothing appears in the print queue.

Windows 7 64bit – usb connected to back port and same cable successfully prints using a surface tablet, but not on this computer.

      Rather basic, perhaps pedantic I know – but… “Downloaded the driver, shows in the control panel”

      You did actually install the driver version you downloaded; and followed the instructions as per the idiot’s guide (the manual) re’ installing printer drivers?

      And I’m not entirely sure I follows this: “Windows 7 64bit – usb connected to back port and same cable successfully prints using a surface tablet, but not on this computer.”

      – usb connected to back port means connected to a usb port on the printer, and not the computer in question?

      Are you saying that the tablet prints OK when connected directly to the printer via a usb cable; or the tablet prints of when connected via the computer (the one to which you refer initially – not another computer) and thence the printer?
