Cannot Detect Inbuilt Webcam On Samsung R530

  • 0

Hi,
I’m trying to use the web-cam to skype a friend but cannot locate it on the laptop. I have tried rebooting laptop, couldn’t do a system restore as there was no previous point to restore it to (its not a new laptop I just don’t have any points created). For some reason the driver has been deleted/is missing and when I download one from the Samsung support website and run installation it kind of says its installing and then nothing happens after that (the driver says for Win XP and I am running Win 7 so maybe that is why however there are no other drivers on the website). I then try to click set up but it says it cannot detect a web-cam.
Is there any way of disabling web-cams on Samsung r530? I can’t remember if I disabled it on this laptop or my previous one. Basically I have no clue how to fix this so any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

Oh and the web cam is not listed in device manager, or anywhere else that I can find really…

  1. You can download the WEBcan and device drivers from the Samsung WEBsite. Please click on this link and select your model computer/notebook and theWindows drivers you require :-.http://www.samsung.com/us/support/

  2. Check the privacy settings for the camera.

Navigate to Settings, select Privacy or Privacy & security, and then select Camera. Make sure that the app you are trying to use with your camera has permission to access the camera.
