I have a windows 7 pc. the realteck audio apparaat works correct. no sound out mij altec lansing speakers. do i need some drivers?
motherboard model:
asrock-succ
ddr2 1066
ddr3 1066
dual channel
there is no sound. not from the speakers and not from the system sounds

a)What have you uninstalled?
b)Have you checked whether you are able to hear sound through other speakers?
I would suggest you to run hardware and device troubleshooter and check if you come across the same issue.
Open the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type troubleshooter, and then click Troubleshooting. Under Hardware and Sound, click Configure a device. If you’re prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

If this doesn’t help, I would suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below and check if you come across the same problem.
Step 1: Update sound driver.
Steps to update the sound driver:
i. Click Start, type devmgmt.msc and press enter.
ii. Expand Sound, video and game controllers and right click on the sub item and click update driver.

If this fails then try to reinstall the sound driver
Step 2: Reinstall sound driver.
i. Click Start, type devmgmt.msc and press enter.
ii. Expand Sound, video and game controllers and right click on the sub item and click uninstall.
iii. Restart the computer.
iv. Visit the manufacturer website to download the latest sound driver.
v. Install the driver and restart the computer for the changes to take effect.

You need to program the outputs when using HD audio. Open the Realtek audio manager and select the method you are using for the cables.
