I’m trying to run windows 3.1 in ms dos 6.22, but when i do it shows the splash screen for a second or two, then it brings me straight back to the command line. I have tried reinstalling, using 3.11 instead of 3.1, and installing on CD vs floppy. Anything helps.

On something like that, you need to be running it virtually, MSDOS doesn’t see more than 64MB of RAM and Win3x has problems with more than 256MB of RAM without serious tweaking.
