My computer crashed recently and I had to attempt to recover files. Now many of these files including Word Docs, Excel sheets, pictures etc. now have a dollar sign at the beginning of the file name and I am unable to open the files. I am more concerned with my pictures. Can these files be fixed? Thanks

Try this, Copy & Paste them all into a test folder.
Right click on the folder or open the folder & highlight all the files, then right click on the folder or the highlighted files & select run as Administrator.
