I have a Compaq Armada E500 and i put a power-on password for it. When i turn it on it asks for the password but when i type it in it doesn’t do anything. It puts a KEY with an X in the middle of it under “Power-on password”. Every time i try it does the same thing. Can someone tell me what to do please?
BTW- i know it says that its a Lenovo……… but i just picked that at random

ok a buddy of mine as 1 and today he brought his laptop to me an was like i cant get in it when i turn it on i cant access no F-strokes to enter bios and it pops up with a x that says enter pw… well in 5 min it was fixed ..turn comp on then shut it down … take the battery out of laptop for 5 min make sure your comp is off first before taking battery out then put it back in an bammm i fixed it and we were able to get to his login name with his pw … try it i bet it works if it dosent work then Compaq have whats called a jumper if i need to explain i will but try my first solution first…….
