    But sometimes this erratic colors are produced by a corrupted file in the system. But your iPad should be under warranty so Apple should replace your device or provide a solution.

    If you want to try something safe on your on, you could set up your iPad to factory conditions by performing a “Restore” from iTunes. However back up and Sync all your important files first even the Restore will back up your iPad.

    Using wrong surface (mouse pad)

    The mouse might be unresponsive because you have it on a clear or shiny surface. The mouse needs a surface that is able to reflect the outgoing beam from the LED back up to the sensor in the mouse. Textured surfaces are better, because they allow the mouse to recognize movement easier. Choose a mouse pad that is not shiny or transparent. You can temporarily use paper or a folder of some type to place underneath the mouse.
    Mouse is dirty

    If the bottom of the mouse is unclean, dirt can interfere with the sensor. Use a moist towel or wipe to clean off the bottom, so the light has a clear path back to the sensor.

    Your mouse settings may be disarranged in some way. To fix this, go to your control panel (Start Menu or Windows Key -> Control Panel). The settings will then pop up on your screen. Select “Default” and then exit out. This resets your mouse settings to the normal settings. If this does not work, then try restarting your computer.   6. Either the charge system is bad or the way it reports is bad. I doubt the old battery could be that good. The only issue would be is if you are really trying to keep charging a 100 % battery.     Sometimes the picture of the mboard on the support page for a model is the WRONG ONE on the MSI site, if there are several models, or different versions / revisions of the same model, that look almost identical.

    Sometimes the model markings on the mboard are the SAME for similar MSI models that require different bios updates. E.g. KT4V and MS-6712 Ver. 10A (1.0A) are the same for at least two very similar models. One has a KT400A southbridge chip; the other has a KT400 – they are under a heatsink – I used the bios update for the latter rather than the former. If there is another Rev or Ver number otherwise, or some other marking that is different, I could not and still can’t find it.
    I later found the specs for the one mentioned KT400, the other KT400A – otherwise, the specs looked identical. I then removed the heatsink – aha!
    (It has two plastic pins that retain it – difficult to remove unless the mboard is not mounted. If it isn’t mounted, use pliers or similar to manipulate the tabs on the backside slim enough so the pins can be easily pulled out.)

    Sometimes what the model’s mboard looks like varies depending on what MSI region it was made in. The manual from the proper region should show the correct picture and/or mboard layout diagram.

    If there is a picture in the manual for the MSI model, it’s the right one. If there is no picture in the manual , it may be hard to tell one model from another based on the mboard layout diagram.

    For any mboard, if in doubt, if the mboard is in a working system, determine what it’s bios string is and search with that on the web – if it has a date, omit the date, and you’ll get more “hits” (each version for a model may have many possible dates depending on when it was made initially and whether the bios had been updated since.)

    Retail MSI mboard models I’ve seen always have an obvious model number and version printed between the slots on the mboard in large characters. OEM only MSI models made only for brand name system builders may or may not have that.

    MSI no longer has support or manuals for their older mboards, but the manuals and sometimes bios updates for most of those can be found on the web on third party sites.

    For any mboard brand, usually, if the first number of a mboard version or revision of the same model is the same, e.g. 1.x, 2.x , the same bios updates can be used for the same series, but there are EXCEPTIONS. Find the bios updates for exact version or revision, if not just 1.x or similar is found, to make sure you use the right bios update.
    The release notes for the bios updates may state that it can be used for any of the versions or revisions in the series, they may not.

    MSI often has more that one version or revision of the exact same model number, they often cannot use the same bios updates, and the mboards often do not even look similar.
    They often have two labels for a model – the MS-xxxx model, Ver xx, and a marketing name.
    E.g. for my example, KT4V and MS-6712 Ver. 10A (1.0A; there is no 10A; probably a typo. ), KT4V ? – but that wasn’t enough info.
    Sometimes the marketing name is NOT printed on the mboard, e.g. on OEM only models.
    Sometimes you have to search using the marketing name rather than the model number to find the proper info. They used to have lists with both on them you could use as a cross reference, but they didn’t have that online the last time I looked ( or if they did, it didn’t list the model and ver I was looking up).
    You MAY be able to find the marketing name by searching with the MS-xxxx model, Ver xx on the web.

    Then you can use Interlink-like programs to connect that computer in Win 3.1, or Dos, to another computer. It’s usually much easier to use such programs in Win 3.1.

    You would need to use either the (or an, if there is more than one) obsolete Laplink version for Dos, or the (or an) obsolete Laplink version for Win 3.1, and you would have to dig around on the web to find out how to use the program and how to connect to a computer with a newer operating system.
    The Laplink web site does not support those versions anymore, and there seems to be no info about them when you search their knowledge base, despite the text saying there is info about older versions there.

    You would probably have to use a “dos box” or “dos virtual machine” program or similar on the XP (2000 or higher) computer

    I recommend you use something that is supported NOW , instead, so you at least can look for support on their site, or contact them.

    I don’t think that’s possible. Print Screen only works on the computer it is executed on as far as I have gathered. It only prints what is visible on the screen in any case.

    You could use a screen capture program of some sort, meant to be used in Dos or Win 3.1, to make a picture file (*.jpg, or *.bmp, etc., etc.) of the results, transfer that file to the other computer and print it no problem, if you can find one – that probably can only capture what is on the screen, or blocks of what is on the screen, too. E.g. I use PrintKey, but as far as I know it works only in Win 95 and up.
    There MAY be old versions still available on the web – more likely for Win 3.1 than for Dos only.

    Or, if you can run the program in Win 3.1, as I recall, you can copy the screen contents to the Clipboard in Win 3.1 (you just press Print Screen ?) , then go to the Clipboard and save it as a*.bmp file or possibly other types of picture files.

    You could establish a network between the computers and set up a virtual printer on one or the other computer – that would be easiest to do if you had Windows for Workgroups (Win 3.11) rather than Win 3.1. Support for Win 3.11 and it’s added features was very well supported in Win 95 and up. It’s probably possible to do that with Dos and Win 3.1 too, but much more complicated.

    You can use a PCI parallel port card in the Dos computer, if it has a spare PCI slot, if Dos drivers are available for it (more likely if it’s a used card) or an ISA enhanced parallel port card, or more likely an ISA multi-I/O card that has an enhanced parallel port built into it (usually you can disable everything except what you want to use) , if you need the printer connected to the Dos computer as well.
    (Enhanced = supports EPP, ECP, or EPP/ECP mode – most printers must use one of those modes. Most ISA cards with parallel ports do NOT support Enhanced modes – only the ones made later do. All PCI parallel port cards I know of support enhanced modes. )

    You MAY be able to simply choose to Print to a file, then copy or move that file via the parallel connection, then print that file on the other computer that has a printer connected to it. If you can do that, the file must be saved in a format that the printer can interpret properly.
    If it’s a dot matrix printer, 2000 and above have the drivers for many common brands and models built in, but the printer is NOT Plug and Play detectable, so you must manually select the model in Printers and Faxes – Add a printer.
    If it’s not a dot matrix printer, the same thing applies for most parallel connected printer models, but not all brands and models common when the computer was new are supported in XP.
    E.g. If the printer is an old Canon BJ or BJC model, XP has the software (“drivers”) for those built in. If it is an old Epson model, XP is likely to have the support built in. If it’s an old Citizen model, it probably doesn’t.

    When CD drive or similar is listed before hard drive or similar in the bios Setup’s Boot order or similar settings, some bios versions will display a line whether there is a disk in the optical drive or not , e.g.
    “Booting from CD”
    If the disk is not there, or if it is but is NOT found to be bootable, something is displayed after that, so that the line e.g. then shows
    ” Booting from CD – not bootable ” or similar,
    BUT the bios will always (except in the case of some oddball Dell bios versions) then try to boot from the next thing in the Boot Order or similar list.
    E.g. if hard drive is next in the Boot Order or similar list, the bios will try to boot from that. If the hard drive is found to be NOT bootable, then you will see a message ” no operating system found” or similar – you DO NOT get that message when there is no optical disk in the optical drive.
    The bios will NOT try to boot from anything else in the Boot Order or similar list if it detects a hard drive but finds it isn’t bootable, however, if it doesn’t detect the hard drive at all, it WILL try to boot from the next thing in the Boot Order or similar list, if there is something listed after that.

    If hard drive is listed after CD drive or similar, and if there is no disk, or there is a disk but it’s not bootable in the optical drive, if the bios doesn’t detect the hard drive at all, and if there’s nothing listed after hard drive in the Boot Order, the line you would normally see when there is no disk, or there is a disk but it’s not bootable in the optical drive, will still be on the screen as the last line(s) displayed.
