Hello!
I can’t get a new ip,i have the same ip every times when i check, and when i contacted with my ISP,after 1 minute they said me,i have dynamic ip. Then I got a new IP only once when my ISP check me,and this new ip does not change anymore,so i have the same problem after contacting with my ISP,i think the problem is at my ISP but don’t know what is the problem and i am not sure.
I tried some trick to change my ip,but failed: 1. ipconfig/release – ipconfig/renew 2. ipconfig/release – reboot pc 3.Reboot modem 4.Local Networks – TCP/IP – obtain ip… tried to obtain another ip…etc
I have “Cisco EPC3000 Cable Modem” my internet run on Tv cable,i have Windows XP SP2,My internet connection:Always active, so you do not need to log in,speed:25-30mb Broadband.
Please help!
Best Regards:John
The reason it never changes is simply down to the way the ISP has it DHCP server configured. It is fairly common to get the same IP address back when you renew especially if the ISP is working with a limited address pool. There is nothing you can do about it as it is entirely down to the ISP as to how they configure their DHCP server.
You don’t mention a router so I am assuming that the IP address you are talking about is your public IP address. If you are behind a router then ipconfig only effects your private IP address which is a different thing altogether.
