My laptop is not showing any available routers to connect to and the usual icon that you’d click to check that has changed to a symbol depicting my laptop not being connected to an ethernet cable. The LAN settings now diplays ‘LAN settings do not apply to dial-up connections. Choose settings above for dial-up settings.’ It was working just last night and airplane mode isn’t on. I’m not tech-savvy and have no idea what the issue could be. I’ve restarted my laptop, run a system backup, and turned off my router numerous times, (although I’m connected to it on my phone.)

It might need a driver reinstall. Get the drivers only from the original mfg’s site (Support>Downloads>Drivers). If one of the drivers specifically lists LAN or NICS and another lists WiFi then those are the ones you really want.
