Following instructions on How to add a 2nd router to network. This error will not let me complete and save the definition. Changed 2nd router IP address to 192.168.1.2 static, disabled DHCP, added 1st router IP as default gateway, set subnet mask to same as 1st router. Problem occurs in next frame called ‘Network Setup’ it is requiring a ‘router IP’ & subnet mask again and will not accept either the 1st or 2nd router IP address – gives the “IP equals subnet please correct” error or “LAN & WAN IP addresses are identical please correct. Have reset the 2nd router to factory and tried again to no avail. Had this config working for over a year and mistakenly unplugged 2nd router and lost settings!!

setup #1 is where you only use the 2nd routers lan port to connect to the first routers lan port and you disable its dhcp server since dhcp is coming from the 1st router.
setup #2 which it appears is what you are doing, is where you do the following;
1. enable dhcp on the first router but with a starting scope of 192.168.1.3
2. assuming its gateway assigned is 192.168.1.1 you assign 192.168.1.2 to the wan interface of router2.
3. router2’s lan subnet is 192.168.2.1 and its dhcp is enabled
4. router1 lan port is connected to router2’s wan port
