Universal Pictures, a division of Comcast, released the animated feature across over 4,000 venues throughout the United States and Canada. The film generated a per-location average of $30,795—an impressive metric considering the predominance of children’s ticket pricing.
Domestic revenue for the Easter three-day period totaled $130.9 million. Comscore projections indicate the first five-day window will deliver approximately $190.1 million in North American ticket sales.
Overseas territories contributed an additional $182.4 million. The combined worldwide launch significantly outperformed other 2026 theatrical releases to date.
Roth analyst Eric Handler projected the film would generate between $160 million and $200 million during its initial Wednesday-to-Sunday run, pointing to Mario’s position as a leading gaming property with more than 430 million units sold across all platforms.
