I am a resident at an apartment complex that provides internet included in the rent. I know for a fact that the network (router, modem, etc.) is physically located on site, and I also know for a fact that a company is contracted to maintain the network. Finally I also know that the off site network admin has the capability to see what is being done via the web from each computer in each apartment. So my question is this:
Is there a program I can install that will either make this more difficult or at the very min let me know what is being accessed? First off I think this is illegal in the state of FL, but you have to be able to prove it. Second I am concerned about my banking and other personal information. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Can I Track If The Network Admin Is Spying?

I would suggest making sure the windows firewall is enabled.
Don’t do file and print sharing
Disable netbios over tcp/ip are a couple of security steps you can do.
“I also know that the off site network admin has the capability to see what is being done via the web from each computer in each apartment.”
This is a false conclusion.
The best they could do is review the router logs which may list what domains you visit. It would require a capture machine between you and the router to then review the transmissions. I don’t see that happening in your situation.
When you access your banks site its via a secure ssl link. No chance this traffic is being intercepted. You should never store banking/credit information on your hard drive.
Engaging the windows firewall would let you know if anything is trying to access your pc.
