Solved Sound Blaster Audigy SE Soundcard On Linux Mint 17.2

  • 1

Hi,

I can’t get my SoundBlaster Audigy SE soundcard to work properly on my Linux Mint 17.2.
Mint sees it but only produces sound from the left chanel.

It produces nice 5.1 sound when I use the onboard/motherboard sound. But I also use windows 7 x64 ultimate and 7 prefers the audigy to produce nice sound.
The only option is to remove the sound plugs from the soundblaster ports and plug them into the motherboard ports each time I switch OS’s…Pain

Any ideas on how to fix this please so Mint will use the Soundblaster Audigy SE ?

Thanks

  1. Use……sudo alsamixer…..in the terminal.

When that is open use the L/R arrow keys to move across the bottom of the screen and the up/down arrows to adjust the volume of all channels.

Mint 17.3 gave me the same problem you describe.
