Mi Pad has some serious heating Issues.
1. What can be done to prevent it from overheating during moderate use?
2. Does this heat can actually damage the internal component?
3. Any other relevant tips to improve battery life?

Heat is caused by two things, how much the processor is being used and in direct correlation with that, how much power is being pulled from the battery causing it to heat up. If it’s getting hot, try not using so many apps at once. Are there any particular apps that make it run hotter?
Heat won’t usually damage the components with the exception of the battery. If it’s getting really really hot, it can shorten it’s lifespan.
Several things you can try to reduce using power. Turn off Bluetooth if your not using it. Try to use WiFi whenever possible, if your tablet is trying to pull in a weak cell signal it may be powering up the receiver a little more to get a reliable signal. Turn down the screen brighhtness. Close all background apps that your not using. Turn off notifications or lengthen the time in between when they check in for new notifications from programs you don’t really need notifications on.
