Solved Why Won’t HP Envy 20 TouchSmart All-in-One Desktop Boot Up?

I’ve read the suggestions to resolve this, but there is no available connection for an external monitor on my system. I’ve read about allowing the CMOS to reset, but that will involve removing the cover, and working with the systems internal parts. Is this wise? What else can I try when all I get is a black screen?

      Try temporarily disconnecting both the data cable & power cable to the HDD, then see if the system will POST.
