I change my cmos battery but my system time clock will not work. Can you help because this is causing my laptop not to boot up!

Once the battery has been replaced, turn on the computer and reset the CMOS values to the defaults. After the values have all been entered, make sure to save the settings before exiting. Many CMOS setups allow you to press a key, such as F10, to save values and exit with one action.
I think you should remove the battery once again and make sure all the bios configuration resets.
Be sure you didn’t install the battery up side down.
Hope you weren’t changing the CMOS battery while the laptop was connected to AC or the battery pack was installed.
Did you reset BIOS to it`s defaults after you changed the battery ?
