When i connect my Imation HDD with model # Apollo 25-PHDD-320GB to my PC then the contents of HDD is not opening but it is showing an error”The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error”.

Solution 1: Check all cables connections.
Solution 2: Update or Re-Install the Drivers.
Solution 3: Check all the Cords.
Solution 4: Change the drive transfer mode in IDE Channel Properties.
Solution 5: Check and Repair Device in Command Prompt.
Check that you are connecting both USB cables that come with the hard drive to your computer (the hard drive comes with a Y USB cable, one end is for power and the other end for data transfer) try also different USB ports on your computer, if you have USB ports available on the back try connecting the hard drive to those ports it will give more power. Try on different computers to check if you get the same I/O error, if you get the same problem it would be better to contact Imation support, their phone number is 800-351-8186
