A power outage occured several weeks ago and my microphone stopped working. I switched the jack from the back of my computer to a jack on the front. The power went out again and the same thing happened to the front jack. The headphones work fine but both jacks stopped working.

try using a surge protector to keep from having these problems.
All I can suggest is to maybe update the drivers and see if that helps.
