My PC, which I recently replaced my old motherboard and PSU with a Corsair CX600 and a ASRock Z75 Pro3. The system fans spin, cpu fan included, but the system shuts off after a few seconds of being on the ASRock splash screen. Help please?
RAM: Corsair 2x4GB (Although one broke.) 1600MHz
CPU: Intel i3 something, I at least know its compatible with the motherboard
GPU: EVGA GTX650
HDD: Seagate 1TB Barracuda 7200.12
UPDATE: Able to get to a screen which says “UEFI Defaults have been loaded. Press F2 or DEL to run setup Press F1 to continue”
Only problem is, choosing either option makes the computer shut down.
If you can run in the BIOS for as long as you want but you can’t boot in Windows it is because your hardware is too different.
What type of Windows installation do you have? If Windows 7 originally came pre-installed on an OEM computer like HP, emachines, etc., then you may not get Windows to run on the new motherboard.
That type of Windows license is called an SLP and is limited to the original hardware.
