Solved Panasonic LCD TV Dark On Lower Right Hand Side.

My Panasonic LCD 50 inch tv has a dark patch on one side but only on the lower half. The rest of the screen is completely normal . I use the Panny as a pc monitor. Has anyone got any ideas as to the cause. I have tried reconnecting the lcds cable to no avail.

      It sounds like the backlight is going out. If it’s an older model, it uses a cold cathode florescent tube, they can start to dim at one end when they go bad. If it’s a newer model, they use an array of white LED’s for the backlight and possibly one of those has gone bad.

      Edit, cold cathode tubes that are at the end of their life can also put out a pinkish hue when they first come on, are you seeing this issue when you first turn on your laptop?
