Solved No Sound From Headset In Asus Laptop Front Panel!

  • 5

Hello. My front-panel sticks on my laptop don’t work, in some quite mysterious way.
When I insert any headset into the minijack opening on the side, no sound comes out of it and it doesn’t detect the jack-stick insertion (which it used to do in system tray).
The sound only gets deactivated for the internal laptop speakers, with nothing in the other end.

The laptop model is ASUS UL30A, with Realtek HD Audio (it says the audio codec is ALC269).
I have tried to install different audio drivers, and the problem is the same, with or without.
Any of y’all got ideas?

  1. Are you sure you are actually changing the drivers? To check, go to device manager and open the realtek sound device. Click on the driver tab to see if the file matches what you downloaded. You can also change the drive there.

Removing the device and rebooting will usually just re-install the installed driver. To change drivers, don’t reboot in between.
