If you have a SATA drive you’ll need to acquire XP sata drivers, probably from the drive manufacturer, and install them when you get the option to ‘press F6 to install third party or raid drivers’.
If a new IDE device was recently added to the computer and the jumpers are not set properly, it can cause a no fixed disk error message. Verify that the jumpers on the hard drive or other IDE devices are set properly to primary or secondary.
Make sure that all the jumper on IDE hard drive and other devices are in correct configuration of master and slave. Check for the all cables that connect the hard drive to the system and motherboard Ensure proper CMOS settings Replace the damaged hard drive, IDE cable or motherboard. In case of hard drive, you will need to restore the lost data from backup that must be completely updated and clean to provide required results.
