I have a NEC Versa E6000 laptop. Recently it shut down unexpectedly quite often. Cleaned the heat sink and problem still. Have to remove both battery and unplug the power adopter, then plug-in either one for starting the laptop. Can anyone help, please?

Sounds like it could be overheating; check ALL heat sinks and air flow openings to make sure they are clear of debris; also check to see if the CPU fan “turns hard”, indicative of bad bearings. Could also be a bad sensor on the motherboard.
The shutting off could also be due to a loose motherboard component: loose hdd, heat sink, lack of thermal paste on heat sink, loose RAM, modem, wifi card, loose data or power connection somewhere.
Could also be due to a possible break in a circuit somewhere on the motherboard caused by small fissures (cracks) on a component level piece on the motherboard.
