Solved Laptop Screen Shuts Off But Computer is Still Running

I have a Toshiba Satellite L675D-S7052 and as I turn my laptop on it works fine for about 5-10 minutes however after that time frame my screen goes black. Everything is still running perfectly as I hear nothing that’s out of the norm however like I said my screen goes black and noticed that the “caps lock” key doesn’t light up either.

I have drained all excess charge from my laptop and that did not work. I hooked up my laptop to an external monitor and it works fine up until my laptop gets the black screen then my external monitor goes blank as well. So, I’m drawing a blank at what else it could be.

If anyone reading this can guide me in the right direction I’d appreciate it.

      Then there is probably nothing wrong with your graphics. Could be heat related.

      Install HWmonitor from the link below and run it in the tray by the clock. Watch the temperatures and fan activity to figure out what is going on.

      Have you tried blowing out the vents?

      Do you ever hear the fan run?
