Brand new ink cartriges installed today. Red will not print. The same thing happened the last time I replaced the cartriges, too long ago for me to remember how to fix it. I do remember that I had to take it in for repair and it cost $$$$$ too much. I know, If I had remembered, I wouldn’t have spent the $400 for new ink and instead bought a new printer!
How can I get the red to print – please help
It’s the mirrors. I found the PDF file that describes how to clean the mirrors in the laser/scanner assembly. It’s entitled Fading Red Tones on Color LaserJet 2600s (© 2007 Don Thompson’s Service Seminars). The author provides detailed instructions about taking apart the printer and cleaning the mirrors and lenses. It is very accurate and relatively easy to follow if you have the courage. It tokk me about 90 minutes in total. The author should be thanked for providing a valuable insight for those of us who have been foolish enought to buy this flawed printer.
