I am a left hander but with some things right handed can not use a mouse left handed! so i have to use the mouse turned 180% so the buttons are pointing towards my palm of my right hand. if i do not turn it around the mouse cursor goes in a different direction to what my eyes and right hand can not co-ordinate. very strange i know but would love to use a mouse the right way up. This is the same problem as with any desktop or laptop with a mouse (no problem with the laptop touch-pad): so not driver problem

The second is some prank software but shows there could be a software solution.
I also found reference to a trackball being an ‘upside down mouse’. I wonder if you could force an install of trackball drivers but use a mouse instead of the trackball, would the directions be reversed?
