How do i fix this problem
Error msg for secondary hard drive “imminent failure” even when primary and secondary drives are swapped. both drives have a boot os on them. I moved the secondary from sata port 2 to sata port 3 and the error message still appears on boot and restart.
The message does not appear when only one of the drives is connected.
vista on one of the drives and windows 7 on the other.
Also swapped out sata cable for a new one.
Get either generic hard drive diags or use the drives’ OEM diags.
As in #1 above plus test memory with Memtest.
If memory tests OK as well as both hard drives, try setting BIOS to boot from one drive only (set one a bootable and the other as not), or keep both bootable but change the boot order. Experiment a bit to see what works. This will only work if each OS was the sole one when it was installed, keeping its own boot files on its own drive rather than using the same MBR.
Try this
Shut down the computer right away. …
Open the computer case and locate the hard drive at the front of the computer. …
Put the hard drive in a sealed freezer bag. …
Take the hard drive out of the freezer and reconnect it to the computer.
