I have a HP Pavilion G7 laptop that I use as a backup. When I turned in on last week, I got an error message that the fan was not working correctly (90b). I did not open the computer but cleaned the vents as best as I could but that did not solve the problem. I brought it to my local Staples for repair. When I went to get it back today, I was told that the fan is working correctly but they could not find out why I was getting the error message. When I asked if it was safe to use the computer, I really did not get an answer.
If it is not the fan, what could trigger the error message? Is the computer safe to use as is? Is this problem repairable?
Thank you.

where it says a bios update may fix it–meaning it might be a false error generated by the bios.
