Solved Gigabyte G41m Combo DDR3 Ram Problem Can’t Find Solution!!!

  • 0

Hi everyone,

I have Gigabyte G41M Combo Mobo rev 2.0 with Intel C2d E7400 2.8 Ghz processor and DDR2 Ram. This motherboard supports 1066/1333(O.C.) DDR3.

I bought G skill RipjawsX 1333 Mhz 1*4 Gb but couldn’t make it work.
The G-Skill customer service said that Ripjaws series used one sided IC chips which might not work on older motherboards.
They adviced me to buy Value Ram series so I bought G-Skill 4 Gb DDR3 1333 Mhz Value ram which they said uses two sided IC Chips.

But it still doesn’t work.
I reset the bios, load the defaults but still it won’t work.
When I switch on the power, There is no display and no beeps but the mobo is working I can see the fan running.

And there are two people I know(online review) who are using the same ram on the same mobo and its working for them?
Yes I am installing it firmly in the right slot and not using DDR2 and DDR3 together.

What do I do? Anything I might be missing, anyone?

Help Urgent Need!
Thanks in Advance

  1. “Could it be related to my PSU?”

We already went over this. The PSU is not the problem. It’s either the RAM or you’re missing something in the BIOS settings. Is there a jumper on the board that needs to be changed to switch from DDR2 to DDR3?
