Solved Fastest Way To Duplicate 4TB HDD – Copy Or Clone?

Hi, a question: which could be the fastest way to copy an 4 tb HDD?basically with documents, videos, music, software, etc.

  1. Also consider what you are copying the content for.
    If you are looking to make an exact copy that can be put into the computer as is to use as a working drive then I would suggest Cloning it. This is not strictly required since you already said that the drive does not have an operating system on it.
    If you are making a drive to use on a different system with possibly a different operating system, then copying the files and folders may be the better solution.
    If you are making a back up for the files to be set aside then consider either copying or a back up solution (Windows back up or other).
    As far as speed is concerned, the way the drive is connected will make the most difference so connect the drive as an internal SATA drive with the fastest available SATA speeds (SATA III).

    You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
