Example Of F USB Port/Interface

  • 1

Help, please! I am so far out of touch with the new hardware! I want to install a floppy drive internaly into my machine. There are 2 SATA controllers available but there are also 4 f usb ports (?) which seam to have 4 pins each! I can’t seem to find any info on the f usb ports, ie: as to what they are. If I am not mistaken I can buy an internal floppy drive that has an SATA intreface, but I can also buy an internal floppy with a usb interface. What I need to know is just what is the f usb port and is it the correct on for use with an internal usb floppy drive? Or can someone point me to some information place on the web that will inform me (with pictures) just what an f usb port/interface is! TIA

  1. There are no sata connectors for floppy drives
If you want to install a floppy drive you will have to make sure you have a port for it on the motheboard as newer ones are doing away with this type of unit.

floppy drives have a ribbon cable something like the old ide cables that were used on hdd and cd-rom drives etc
You will have to make sure your power supply has a floppy power cable as well

usb is for external devices mostly unless you are on about the usb headers on a mobo
