Enter Key Not Working Toshiba Laptop

  • 0

I looked though some of the posts, and didn’t find anything specifically like my problem. Here it is:

I have a toshiba satellite m35x-s161 and the enter key is not working. I have tested the other keys, and this appears to be the only one. I happened to have another toshiba laptop which is very similar, and i removed the keyboard form it, and installed it in the machine in question. To my surprise, the enter key didn’t work even with the new keyboard. I also just did a fresh install of windows xp, so i really have no idea what is going on….. maybe bad connection where the keyboard ribbon feeds to the mobo? ANY SUGGESTIONS?

  1. Keyboards have two parts. One is on the keyboard and the other is in the computer. It is rare but the part in the computer can go bad.
May have to use external keyboard from now on if the similar keyboard should have worked.

  2. You may be using an incompatible or outdated keyboard driver, which is why the Enter key is not working. … Once you’ve uninstalled your keyboard driver, restart your computer. When your PC reboots, your system will install the keyboard driver automatically. So, you should check if the Enter key is finally working.
