Solved Dell T3500 Memory Failure Detected At DIMM1

  • 0

At the time of booting, the system Dell Precision T3500 with 16GB RAM (in 4 slots?), before coming to a boot loader, is reporting:
Memory failure detected at DIMM1. Press F1 to boot, F2 to run setup, F5 to run on-board diagnostics.
I pressed F5. The diagnostics ran for an hour and then asked to run another such module, and took around half an hour. No problems detected by the diagnostics.
Next time when I boot, it reports the same error.
What could be the reason?
Do I have to take some steps or just press F1 every time it boots?
Please advise.
Thanks

  1. The above suggestions are good. However, contact corrosion is common with RAM. I suggest you remove and re-seat each RAM stick 4 or 5 times to burnish the contacts. If the problem persists then follow the advice in #2 above.
