Dell D520 Won`T Boot

won`t boot with or without battery, hard drive is working, but screen stays black. Flashing amber light only sign of life apart from green power light,

    1. If you never ever see anything at all on the screen then it’s pretty safe to assume you have a hardware fault. Nothing wrong with trying the Linux idea though just to make quite certain.
