My dad just wants to connect his eMachines desktop EL1333G to his Panasonic 50″ plasma TV. I tried a VGA to HDMI converter & it’s not working. I get the OS boot up screen on the TV then it goes blank. Can I replace the video card with one that has an HDMI port? eMachines tells me there is one PCI Express ×16 port to install graphics card. Can I just install any PCIe card? He’s not a gamer just wants a big screen due to vision problems.
