Solved Compaq 6730b Won’t Boot From CD

There is not even an option for it in the BIOS, anybody know how to get around this and install XP ? ………………………………………………………………………………………

      Thanks guys but after research and experimentation I have solved the problem myself.

      For reasons which can only be known to Compaq the CD ROM is actually referred to as a ‘Notebook Upgrade Bay’ which does appear in the boot device list but not content with that bit of nonsense even with it promoted it to the top to enable it it’s necessary first to reset of the BIOS to defaults and then change something called ‘SATA Device mode’ from SATA to IDE, only then can you and actually boot from it.
