Check Signal Cable Message At Startup

  • 2

I just built my first pc and I am trying to install the Windows 7. In order to install the program I would have to see what I am doing. This is where the problem lies. When I turn on the pc and then turn on the monitor, the screen display is saying “check signal cable”. What am I doing wrong?

  1. Unplug the monitor’s power cord and hold down the monitor’s power button for 30-60 seconds. Plug the monitor back in and power it up. Now reset the Source input in the monitor’s menu to DVI. Try the monitor on another PC using DVI.

  2. The “signal cable” is a term used to describe the cable that connects your computer’s case to your computer monitor. … You will also see this message occasionally if your computer video card is malfunctioning and cannot send the proper video signal through the cable to your monitor.
