Can’t Stop Dell Battery Warning Message

I keep getting a message, ‘Your battery needs to be replaced’ on my Dell Latitude D520. I don’t care that the battery’s dead, I work from the mains – I just want the message to stop. It blocks part of the screen. Can anyone tell me how to stop it?
