Solved Canon Pixma MG2460 Printer Offline Problem Persists

  • 2

After installation from disc, and connecting all cables correctly, computor still says the printer is off line and can’t be used.
I have tried reinstalling the driver disc many times from the original disc
I have tried going online to find a driver file for it but still the problem persists.
Help me please

  1. As I recall Canon are very specific about how to install their printers. It starts with usb and moves onto network drivers a little later…; and also tells you when to connect and power up the printer… when setting it up.

Are you having problems when trying to connect via usb and/or ethernet and/or wifi? Does it show and work with usb and not ethernet/wifi?

Have you got and read the manual for the mg2460? Finding the setup/installation version – haven’t managed to find that; only the “how to use it version” – which is not much help just now…

This is for the mg2420 – as sold in USA; which is likely one of the same mg2400 series The mg2460 doesn’t appear there (seems to be in Australia/New Zealand at least), but possibly this ‘guide” will be a model for yours… Generally Canon adopt the same routine for a given series (if not several).

I note the link phil22 gives you does go to a composite download that “appears” to include a full setup routine – and which is partially via an on-line routine? Hopefully between phil’s link and the 2420 link above you can resolve it?

You’ll need to “copy and paste” the link I’ve posted into your browser.
