Canon Pixma 5350 Printing Blank Pages.

  • 7

My MG5350 has always worked fine. Today everything still seems to be working fine – except all the pages come out blank. Ink levels are OK. Canon diagnostic tool says everything working OK. Have reinstalled drivers. Have run deep cleaning programme. Have unplugged, re-started. Nothing makes any difference. MY PC seems to be sending the information to the printer. The printer makes all the usual noises. The paper comes out just as it always does – except with nothing on it!

  1. I wouldn’t worry about getting the PCB wet. I have used Hot water, rubbing alcohol and even Lacquer thinner on Canon print heads. What have you got to lose anyway.

Place in a container of hot tap water and let set for a spell. Then place under the hot water spout in the kitchen sink and let the water run into the holes where the cartridges attach. You will see lots of colored ink flowing out when doing that.

I was sold on Canon for years but then got tired of print head issues like you are experiencing. Then when through a really good Laser color printer that mechanically broke (wouldn’t feed paper) then tried Brother all in on color laser. That printer only printed decent copy when using the expensive Brother supplies.

I went back to an inkjet when my Canon tabloid size color printer gave me more grief than it was worth.

Bought an Epson All in One that has two paper trays, prints, scans, copies 1 or 2 sided up to 19 x 13 paper. I am currently buying generic ink tanks and have really good results. I couldn’t be more pleased.

My unit is an Epson WF-7620. Epson makes a letter size with the same features. I saw both units on Sale at Officemax for $200 to 250. They will demo it for you.

I don’t work for Epson or Officemax either but this is the best printer I have ever used.

Also got it to interface with my old version of Paperport 11, the last good version of that software. The Brother wouldn’t work with that version.

Hope this helps if you can’t get the print head cleared. Sometimes they just quit working without being plugged up. I must have at least 8 or 9 print heads for the older BJC series because I couldn’t get them to work.
