Hi Guys!
I have a HP DV6000 Laptop with AMD Turion x64 processor at 1.7Ghz (Dual Core). It has a nVidia motherboard with Geforce Go Graphics. My original adapter which came with the laptop stopped working and I got a new one. The old one was 90W 19A(4.74A) and the new one is 65W 18.5A(3.5A). So can I use the new charger.
I took the battery out and it was written on the laptop below the battery:
Input:
18.5A(3.5A) or
19A(4.74A)
So can I use the new charger which is 65W 18.5A(3.5A) instead of the old which was 90W 19A(4.74A).
I need an urgent answer because I am going out of town within a few hours and I need to get another charger if this can damage the laptop. Also when the laptop is plugged in it has a strange feeling to it like a current passing thourgh when I rub my hand on it.
HELP WANTED URGENT
Best bet is to get the correct replacement.
EDIT:
I have assumed the polarity and plugging arrangements are identical.
Always pop back and let us know the outcome – thanks
